  • Good Morning

    Tue 22 Sep 2015

I have finally worked out how to post to our school website! The children have had a fabulous start to Year 1 and are really beginning to settle. I would like to thank them all for their hard work and to all of you for your patience in getting up and running. We have had a brilliant start to our project on Aliens. The aliens crashed landed into our class last week and we are now busy making plans and rebuilding their spaceship!

We have also been very privileged to have Oxfordshire sculptor George Lewis working with us. Last week he helped us to look at materials and their properties for building. Here are some of our mini sculptures using cups and art straws.

This week he will be joining us again to begin our alien designs. We will be also collaborating on a large scale project in the near future. We are hoping to host an exhibition of our work so watch this space! Feel free to visit and look at our sketch books anytime and don’t forget to keep an eye out for Murp, our resident alien!

    Beeble for now! (goodbye!)

  • Vitality Oxford Half Marathon

    Tue 08 Sep 2015

Mrs Bodeker, our Sports Coordinator, would like to bring to your attention the ‘Vitality Oxford Half Marathon’ which will take place on Sunday 11th October.

Lasts year a number of Woodcote Primary Children took part and thoroughly enjoyed the challenge.

Once registered, Mrs Bodeker will be organise the children to complete a series of runs over set distances (usually a mile a week), which can be achieved and verified here at school or at home. Your child will be supplied with their very own record card in order to mark their distances, and a teacher or parent can sign after each completed section.

On the actual race day, the children and teachers will run the final mile, completing the finale of the Schools’ Challenge and crossing the same finish line as all the half marathon runners.

If you would like you child to take part in this challenge, please complete the registration form and return it to the school office with payment and details of T-shirt sizes. (Cheques payable to ‘Woodcote Primary School’) Registration sheets must be returned by Monday 14th September for school to send off the forms.  Paper copies of the forms are available in the Foyer. If you have any questions please check the website www.oxfordhalf.co.uk or speak to Mrs Bodeker.
