Tasting a Kohlrabi - 19th March 2014

Oak Class tasted Kohlrabi (German turnip or turnip cabbage) today.

It  is an annual vegetable, and is a low, stout cultivar of cabbage. Kohlrabi can be eaten raw as well as cooked. The children really enjoyed tasting it and compared it to a watery turnip.

Thank you Mrs Bentley for bringing it in for the class to try.

Here are a few photos of the children tasting it.
