Mr ROBOT Horsley - 22nd Sept 2015

Today something strange happened to Mr Horsley!  He seems to have turned into a robot and had forgotten how to do even the easiest things.  We needed to give him very careful instructions to help him to make a sandwich.  He really did need very detailed and precise instructions or he did the funniest things:  spreading his butter with his fingers, throwing bread on the floor and twisting round and round with the jam!

We are going to begin to learn coding for computer programmes.  Giving precise instructions is important when we are learning to do this because computers do not have any understanding and can only do what we tell them.  We have to take things in very small steps and be very accurate about what we tell computers to do.  We had the same problem programming Mr Horsley to make a jam sandwich.

When we had finished we then had a try at giving each other some simple instructions too.  It is amazing how tricky it can be!!
