Homework Information

Homework

A Homework Diary/Communication book will come home daily and needs to be returned to school each morning along with the Reading Journal. Both the Homework Diary and Reading Journal will be used in school on a daily basis.

Homework, spellings and times tables will be sent home weekly. Children will have one week to do their homework, which should take around 30 minutes to complete. Please note in the Homework Diary whether this homework was completed independently (I) or with support (WS).

Reading

Pupils are expected to read every night for at least 20 minutes. We do recognise that a number of pupils have after school clubs to attend and that this may impact reading time. To make up for this, pupils may choose to read for 40 minutes on another night. Pupils will bring home a Reading Journal each night and are expected to comment on what they have read in their Journals, like a diary. There is a question sheet in the back of their Journals to help with this comment. The Reading Journal must be in school every day for reading in class.
