Home School Learning Mentor service

The Home School Learning Mentor service is a role within school to help you with any worries or concerns you may have about your child or home circumstances whilst your children are at school.

Being a parent or carer can be a very rewarding job. It can also be a very demanding and difficult time. When things are not quite right, it can sometimes be helpful to have someone to talk to in confidence.

You may be worried about your child’s emotional needs. Are they happy, comfortable and confident at school? Do they bring any worries home with them? Are they worried about things at home that may be having an impact on their social, emotional and academic life?
It may be other worries that you, as a parent are experiencing such as challenging behaviour from your child, problematic bedtime routines or health concerns. Maybe you have separated from your partner, having financial difficulties or just struggling to juggle family life. Perhaps you are not confident to approach the teacher with your worries or questions. Anything that affects you and or your child can have an impact on your family and sometimes it can be helpful to talk about it.

There is no magic wand but we do have good listening ears. If we cannot directly help then we will do our upmost to find the appropriate support to better assist you and or your child.
We have two key workers in our school, Alison Ploszynski and Kelly Gould. They are normally available Monday afternoons and Thursday and Friday mornings. Other times can be accommodated by arrangement.
