Sickness bug – please can we remind parents that if your child has been sick or has had diarrhoea, they need to remain off school for 48 hours after their symptoms disappear. This helps reduce the infection rate among children and staff. We have had a large number of children absent over the last 2 weeks with sickness and diarrhoea. Please find attached, information from Oxfordshire County Council regarding managing sickness absence from school.

Parent Evenings – these will take place in the school hall for all classes on Tuesday 10th February and Wednesday 11th February between 3.30pm – 6.30pm. Please note that the appointment is for 10 minutes, however if you realise that you may need longer, please make a separate appointment with the class teacher so as not to delay other parents. The appointment sheets will be given to the Class Teachers by Monday morning, so if you still wish to sign up please liaise with the Class.

Travelling Book Fair – this will be held after school in the hall next week. Parents and children are invited to visit the Fair from 3.15pm – 3.45pm Monday to Friday. Books purchased at the Fair will earn the school commission which can then be spent on books and resources for the children’s classes.

Cake Sale Funds – thank you to the parents supporting the Class Cake sales. As an example of how the money has been spent, Rowan Class (Year 4) has been able to purchase a number of virtually new hardback copies of books by Anthony Horowitz, J K Rowling and Michael Morpurgo.

Absences – if your child is unwell please inform the school office by phone or email or class teacher by 9.30am. After this time your child’s absence may be marked as ‘unauthorised’.

Please ensure that once your child has returned from time off sick, you complete and return, a ‘Notification of Absence Due to Illness’ form available in the Foyer.

Elms Sport Camp – this will take place at Woodcote Primary School during the February half term and all other holidays until October 2015. Leaflets are available in the Foyer.
