Dramatic Division - 22nd Jan 2016

Beech Class have been learning all about dividing.  We acted out the story of The Doorbell Rang by Pat Hutchins.  In it the children have to keep sharing out the twelve cookies that their mum made as more and more visitors arrive.  We used cookies, cubes and arrays to work out the answers to the sharing problems. It was great fun and helped us all understand how to divide numbers and quantities by sharing.
When we had finished our lesson we had a treat – Mrs Pearson shared out some really tasty cookies for us all to eat! Yum!
