    Building Developments

We have had erected a new storage shed at the front of the school to store basic equipment, currently stored in the metal container in the playground. The metal storage container is being removed to make way for a new single chalet building, in the same style as the current chalet buildings. This additional building will provide much needed working space for staff to work with groups of pupils to support their curriculum work. We are hoping that the new chalet will be built during this Summer term.

    Golden Rules

Children are very aware of our Golden rules and often refer to them. I am pleased that after focussing on rule 3, increasingly now, I have children coming to my office to show me excellent pieces of work, or work they have greatly improved in. What is very pleasing too is that these children are proud of themselves and their achievements.

This year we are continuing to reinforce rule number 5.

    Please reinforce these at home:

    1. We listen to and look at the person talking to us.
    2. We walk quietly and calmly into assembly, the dining hall and around school.
    3. We take pride in our work.
    4. We follow requests and instructions, calmly and promptly.
    5. We take responsibility for our actions and belongings.
    6. We speak politely to everyone, and show good manners.

If you ever have any concerns please speak to the class teacher or myself, as often issues can be resolved quickly and easily with informal discussion.

Thank you for your continued support for the school.

    Fri 05 Apr 2013

We have had a really busy start to the year with many, many activities having already taken place including various school trips. Our open evening (the first for a very long time) was a huge success with a wonderful display of work from years 3-6 pupils. The evening focused on the whole school topic of ‘War and Peace’ with some fantastic interactive displays for parents.

The Scholastic Book Fair and our wonderful Book week included activities such as bed time story evening where children (and teachers) attended school, in their PJs, for cookies, cocoa and bedtime stories.. The family early morning café allowed parents and children to share books, buy donated books and drink tea, coffee or squash until school started. Other special events took place in the respective classrooms, assemblies and team meetings and a vote on the Woodcote Primary School’s favourite book.

Back by popular demand Ladies Spring Pub walk which is open to anyone to join on the 17th May – a walk through the woods around Woodcote then back at a pub for supper all for a fee of £8.00 If you would like to join in, meet some new people or catch up with some old faces, please let the school office know.

Lunchtime Supervisor – The school has a vacancy for a lunchtime supervisor. If you, or someone you know, would like to apply for this position please ask in the school office for more details and an application form.
