Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Tuesday and Wednesday were very exciting and busy days. We enjoyed visiting the theatre tent that had arrived on the field. We loved watching and joining in with Animal Rocks. Our favourite characters were the fox and the dinosaurs. The dad tortoise’s dancing to the Strictly tune made us laugh a lot. After the show we enjoyed workshops based on the performance, with lots of children making shakers and joining in with some rhythm fun while others wrote poetry. Thank you to the playhouse for coming along and sharing their talents with us.
Year 3 & 4 finally got the chance to perform their play for a live audience, and what a performance it was!
We were very lucky to have a guest come into school this week called Dr Niall McCann. When he is not being the uncle of a couple of members of our school, he is a conservationist and biologist who works all around the world protecting animals that need our help the most. He has appeared on TV shows with Sir David Attenborough and even had his own TV show called ‘Biggest and Baddest.’
After a fantastic assembly where he talked about lots of places he’d visited and animals he’d met, he joined a number of the children in their classrooms to answer some questions. What a fantastic visit!
This week, the entire school made it’s way on three coaches to Waddesdon Manor in Buckinghamshire. We went looking for three things: (1) A great day out. (2) Something to inspire us in our artwork. (3) A bit of sun? I’d say we succeeded on all counts.
There are a few photos below, but if you’re interested please check out some of the class pages that are bursting with details and pictures from the fantastic day.
Maple and Willow classes had an incredible trip to the O2 in London. In the words of one of our Willow pupils, “It was very busy, but still so much fun!”

We were thrilled to meet Korky Paul during his visit on 7th April. He read stories to each of the classes and shared his illustration skills while drawing a special 'Winnikin' for each year group. It was fabulous watching him bring Winnie to life on the paper, using his pens and watercolour paints so quickly and effectively.
At the end of the day many of us enjoyed a chat with Korky as he signed our books. It was great fun hearing some of the secret inside information behind some of the illustrations and how Korky particularly likes to use his 'happy mistakes' to advantage in his illustrations, like that special kink at the top of Winnie's hat.
Check out the class webpages for more fabulous photos.
What an amazing Day!!
We all dressed up and we learnt about so many books - we want to read them all now!!
See which characters you can spot in the pictures........
Look closely at the Where's Winnie posters and see if you can spot the wonderful Korky Paul's Winnie amongst our versions!
It's time to get this all up and running once more - we have much news to tell!
This Tuesday we sent two teams of footballers to a Partnership Tournament. They all played extremely well and had a lot of fun!
Our A Team came second in their division and our B team came 4th. Well done girls.
The Olympic medal for Determination was awarded to two girls who showed determination throughout.
This year we could not gather at the village memorial but that did not stop us!
We gathered in outdoor spaces around the school, socially distanced and in our bubbles.
The children were proud to remember the brave soldiers of Woodcote. Year 6 read the names of the fallen before reciting "In Flanders Fields". The Last Post sounded and everyone fell silent.
We will remember them.......
