Newsletter 20th January 2012

Football – On Tuesday the 7-a-side football team played a league game against a very strong Whitchurch team.

The boys did extremely well in the first half, which ended 0-0.  In the second half, Whitchurch’s strength showed and they went on to win by 6 goals.  It was a hardworking performance by Harry Hogan, Jack Clark, Dawson Powell, Tom Ostridge, Sam Taylor, Joshua Wiltshire and Adam Wise.

Cycle Training – We have the opportunity to offer Year 6 and possibly Year 5 pupils, cycle training after the February half term.  In order for us to be able to offer this, we will need a couple of adults to support the cycle instructor.  We hope to offer training on

Tuesday afternoons, and possibly Tuesday mornings.  If you are available to help with either morning or afternoon training, please let me know as soon as possible.  You do not have to have a child in Year 5 or 6 to offer to help with this training.  Thank you.

Class Assemblies – Parents are invited to the following class assemblies.

Wednesday 25th January – Hornbeam class

Wednesday 1st February – Oak class

Wednesday 8th February – Rowan class

Children should be dropped off as normal.  Parents will then be able to go into the school hall from 8.50am for the start of the assembly at 9.00am which will last approximately half an hour.

Barnardo’s Egg Challenge – A reminder that if your child has been taking part in this fundraising event this week, that the sponsor form and money should be brought into school next Monday 23rd January.
