Newsletter 18.7.13

Thank you – I would like to say a big thank you to all the parents for their support to me and the school over the last 6 years.  I will look back over the years with many fond memories.  I am so pleased with how much the school has improved and moved forward, thanks particularly to the hard work and dedication of staff and also the fantastic support of parents, especially the FOWPS committee.

Throughout the years the children have been fantastic at the school.  Visitors to the school always comment on how friendly, welcoming and polite the children are and this has contributed to a lovely atmosphere around the school.  I am certain Woodcote Primary School will move from strength to strength and look forward to hearing of further successes.  I am moving onto a new challenge at a school in West Berkshire, and will look forward to that.  Once again, thank you for your continued support.  I hope you all have a lovely summer break.

Goodbye – At the end of term we will say goodbye to Mr Dixon who has worked at our school for two years.  We thank him for all his hard work and wish him well in his new school.

Literacy Cup and Shield – Congratulations to Charlotte Mansfield, who this year has won the Literacy Cup.  This special award is given to a Year 6 pupil each year to recognise and celebrate their achievement and progress in literacy.  Charlotte has produced writing of a very high standard, consistently this year, so well done to Charlotte.  The cup was donated by Mary Williams in memory of her deceased granddaughter, who had a love of reading and in particular writing stories and poems

Congratulations also to Adam McBride who received the literacy shield to recognise his effort and progress with writing this year.  Adam has made significant improvements with writing this year, writing to a high standard and with increasing maturity, well done to Adam.

School Uniform – With this newsletter you will receive a letter about School Uniform which shows what uniform should be worn in school. We will be expecting all children to be in the required school uniform in September.  Please could you also ensure that all items of uniform are clearly marked with your child’s name so that it can be returned to them if it becomes lost.  Forms are available in the school office if you need to order new uniform.

Woodcote Breakfast Club – The Breakfast Club has a few spaces left from September, it opens at
7.15 am during term time.  For further information please contact Charlotte on (01491) 682792 or visit the website at www.woodcotebreakfastclub.co.uk

End of Term – Next Tuesday 23rd July finishing at 1pm
