    Mon 30 Jan 2012

Welcome – This week we are pleased to welcome Rhaya Wernham-Geenes who has joined Willow class.

Football – The Year 5 and 6 football team played a league game against Chalgrove this week. Once again we were up against a strong team and despite our best efforts lost by 7 goals to 2. Well done to Harry Hogan and Josh Wiltshire for scoring two well taken goals and well done to the rest of the team, Tom Ostridge, Josh Palmer, Josh Brant, Sam Taylor and Jack Clark for trying their best.

Cycle Training – We still need adult helpers in order to offer Year 6 and possibly Year 5 pupils, cycle training after the February half term. In order for us to be able to offer this, we need a couple of adults to support the cycle instructor. We hope to offer training on Tuesday afternoons, and possibly Tuesday mornings. If you are available to help with either morning or afternoon training even if you can help for only one or two sessions please let me know as soon as possible. You do not have to have a child in Year 5 or 6 to offer to help with this training. Thank you.

Oak Class Assembly – A reminder that Oak class assembly will be held next Wednesday 1st February.
Children should be dropped off as normal. Parents will then be able to go into the school hall from 8.50am for the start of the assembly at 9.05am which will last approximately half an hour.

Barnardo’s Egg Challenge – A reminder that if your child has been taking part in this fundraising event that the sponsor form and money should be brought into school as soon as possible.

    Golden Rules

Children are very aware of our Golden rules and often refer to them.

    Please reinforce these at home:

    • We listen to and look at the person talking to us.
    • We walk quietly and calmly into assembly, the dining hall and around school.
    • We take pride in our work.
    • We follow requests and instructions, calmly and promptly.
    • We take responsibility for our actions and belongings.
    • We speak politely to everyone, and show good manners.

If you ever have any concerns please speak to the class teacher or myself, as often issues can be resolved quickly and easily with informal discussion.

Thank you for your continued support for the school.

    Yours sincerely,

    Chris Field, Headteacher.
