Poems, by Year 3 - 5th March 2014

Year 3 have been writing poetry inspired by 'The Magic Box', by Kit Wright.

Here are a selection of our poems:

The Magic Box

I will put in the box

The Lake Luana like a lily on a leaf lifting the gentle breeze,

The pop of a dazzling sea clam,

The sight of a crimson red sunset.

I will put in the box

The soft touch of a sheep's fur,

The odd sight of an ogre slurping spaghetti,

A bounding fish from out of the sky.

I will put in the box

The most creamiest chocolate ever eaten,

The smell of orange and sky blue stripes.

I will put in the box

A three headed dog with no heads at all,

Soft white snow crunching beneath my feet,

A vampire sucking blood in front of a camera and a movie star in a haunted house.

My box is fashioned from snow and bronze and diamonds with dandelions on top.

Its hinges are made from ice and gold with screams in the corners.

I will travel the world with my box spreading happiness everywhere.

The Magic Box

I will put in the box

The taste of dairy milk chocolate melting in my mouth,

The colour of a beautiful pink sunset.

I will put in the box

A bright yellow sun and a dream that never ends,

The feeling of a hamster crawling up your leg.

I will put in the box

A damaged clock and a ticking rubbish bin.

My box is fashioned from ice and gold and happiness

With sweets on the lid and coloured glass in the corners.

Its hinges are made from cat's whiskers.

I shall dance in my box on the stage of dancers and then I shall have a break and do it all again.

The Magic Box

I will put in the box

A man that is dressed up as a hot dog

The world's most sparkling diamond.

I will put in the box

A giant donut

A three-headed lion

A hedgehog and a mozarella pizza.

My box is fashioned from friendship, gold and Christianity

I shall relax in the Sport and Craft Hotel.
