Summer Term 1

The Summer term saw us starting our new History topic on the Stone Age; looking at timelines and learning just how long the Stone Age lasted in Britain, going on a hunter-gatherer walk and thinking how Stone Age people survived and evolved, and discovering the Neolithic village 'Skara Brae'.

In Science, we looked at the Life Cycle of Flowering plants, learning about the key parts of a plant and their function. We planted bean seeds to investigate how a seed germinates and dissected flowers to look at the reproduction of plants.

In Maths, we investigated fractions, thinking about the numerators and denominators and equal fractions. Whilst in English, we read both 'UG' and 'The First Drawing' to present an argument about the best stone-age materials for trousers and to create some narrative writing.
