Welcome – to Poppy Read who joined Hornbeam class this week.

Beech Class Assembly – will be held next Wednesday 14th March starting at 9am. Everyone welcome.

Girls’ Football – Last week we took part in a girls’ 6-a-side football tournament. The girls played three games, drawing one and

losing two. It was an enjoyable tournament and I was pleased with how well the girls played. Well done to Lauren Cox, Sophie Abbott, Kimberley Gough, Amy Lissenden, Danielle Thatcher and Astrid Tozer.

Year 2 Football – On Monday we took a team to play in a 6-a-side football tournament at Cranford House. The children played four games, winning one, drawing one and losing two. All the children played well and showed good sportsmanship. Well done to Joseph Palmer, Michael Slingo, Samuel Butler-James, Alfie Proctor, Robin Lewis and Will Temple.

Cross Country – Last Friday we competed against local schools in a cross country event at Langtree. It was a fantastic event with lots of runners involved from Years 3-6. All our children performed well, but particularly well done to Maddie Dudley and Conrad Warren, who both won their separate boys and girls races. Well done to Adam Wise also, who finished second in the boys race.

Bikability Programme – Eight of our Year 6 pupils have made a good start with their cycle training. If any more parents are able to volunteer to help with these sessions, please let us know in the office. The training takes place on Tuesday afternoons. No special training is required for volunteers.

Box Tops – We have been able to obtain a good quantity of books through the Nestlé Box Tops scheme so please continue to send in your box tops so that we can send off at the end of March for another batch.
