Newsletter: 8 May 2015

Sports day dates change – Tuesday 23rd June is the rescheduled date. The backup date, in case of rain, is the Friday 26th June. KS2 – a.m. KS1 – p.m. Timings will be confirmed nearer the event.

SAT’s Week – Year 6 children will be doing their tests next week. In order to control noise as much as possible, the Year 4 Clarinet lesson for Wednesday 13 May has been cancelled. Other music teachers have also postponed their lessons. Good luck to all the Year 6 children.

Cancellation of Clubs – during the week commencing 8th June, Mrs Bodeker will be travelling with the Year 6’s on their residential trip to Barton Hall. She is therefore not going to be available to run the Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday early morning sports clubs or the Tuesday after school athletics club. Children will need collecting at the normal time during this week.

Parent Governor vacancies – earlier in the week you will have received an email regarding the forthcoming parent governor vacancies. If you are interested please return the Nomination Form or contact Alison Mason in the school office, as soon as possible.

School Photo – these are now available to order. An example of the photo can be seen through the window in the Foyer. The children were given an order form from Tempest today. If you would like to order a school photo, please complete the order form and deliver it to the school office via the post box. Please ensure you complete the front of the envelope with your child’s name and the payment amount enclosed. Please return all orders to school by Friday 22nd May. After this time any orders will have to be sent independently and will incur a fee.

Poster competition – the Goring Gap Boat Club have asked if Woodcote Primary School children, among other schools, could help with the design of the front cover of their programme for the Goring and Streatley Regatta, which is on the 25th July at Streatley Farm. All entries will have their artwork displayed in Davis Tate’s window in Goring, for the week leading up to the regatta… as well as on a board at the regatta. The winner’s poster will be used as the front cover of their 2015 programme, and can collect tokens from the GGBC stand for SIX free rides on the attraction of your choice. Second Prize: FOUR free rides on the attraction of your choice. Third Prize: TWO free rides on the attraction of your choice. EVERYONE WHO SUBMITS A POSTER: ONE free ride on the attraction of your choice.

The Theme of the 2015 Regatta is “Pirates and Scallywags” so try and emulate this on your picture.

Please use plain white A4 paper, landscape orientation, no wording. The deadline for entries is Friday 5th June. Please hand your artwork into the school office and make sure you put your name, school, age on the back of your picture. Thank you and we look forward to seeing your artwork! www.goringgapbc.org.uk
