Summer Fair News

Holding the fair on a Friday evening has once again proved successful with a huge turnout of families coming to enjoy a family-friendly evening out. How lucky were we with the weather? After dismal weather all week and a poor forecast for the event, we were truly blessed with a fabulous sunny and calm evening on which to enjoy our activities.

This year we provided many sports-based activities in tribute to the Olympics taking place later this summer in Rio.  School Stalls included: Mrs Bodeker’s Jumping course, Netball hoops challenge, Hockey Dribble, Penalty Shoot out, Cricket Hit the Stumps, Rowing Machine Challenge, Olympic lucky dip trail, Jolly jars, Bottle tombola, the Cafe, Bar, BBQ and Ice cream stalls, Wet Sponge Stocks, the Bouncy Castle, Nail polish and Tattoos, Fruit skewers and Lemonade and Pony rides.

Special mention to Woodcote Cricket club for running the Hit the Stumps stall for us, to Leah and Ruby for their Fruit and lemonade stall, to Helen for providing and supervising the rowing machines and to Charlotte for taking charge of the nail polish and tattoo stalls.

As for previous events, West Berkshire Breweries provided the bulk of the drinks for the bar area. Thank you to them for their generous donations and continued support of our school.

All these stalls were manned by staff, past or present pupils of the school and parents. Thank you all for volunteering. Without you these stalls would not be possible.

External stalls were provided by GKR KarateWoodcote After school ClubWoodcote Breakfast ClubWoodcote Pre-School and Tom (who was raising funds for NASIO charity)  with a display of Judo provided by Inkai.
