Woodcote Primary Poppy Project – Can you knit, crochet or sew?  Then we need your help to make poppies. Woodcote Primary will be celebrating Armistice Day on the 11th November and conducting our own memorial ceremony in the centre of Woodcote at 11.00am.  Everyone is welcome to join us and we’d like to involve our community by wearing poppies that have been knitted, crocheted or sewn by local residents. We would like to get enough together for all the children to be given the opportunity to donate to the appeal and wear one of the poppies, and if we get more, we will sell them throughout the village.  If we get more than we can handle, we will make a wreath to lay or a collage for the school – ‘lest we forget’. We will be supporting The Royal British Legion, who provide lifelong support for the Armed Forces community, serving men and women, veterans and their families.

If you would like to help, we will provide the wool, and we also have some needles.  We can provide a pattern but if you want to go ‘freestyle’ and create your own designs, that would be fine too.  There are loads of patterns available.  Just type in ‘free poppy patterns’ into Google, or why not try Pinterest?

If you need wool or needles or a pattern, please call 07798 702041. Any completed poppies should be dropped off at the school and please make sure you leave your name. Let’s see how much we can raise!
