NOVEMBER Earth Trust

Last week we had the chance to visit the Earth Trust near Wittenham Clumps and learn about the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings.

We spent the morning climbing the hill and looking out at the world as if we were Anglo-Saxons, identifying places that would have been good to settle or places which we could defend from the Vikings. In the afternoon, we then got the chance to try out drop-spinning, a method of making thread from wool. Finally, we had a go at cooking our own Anglo-Saxon flatbread on an open fire!
